Hello Everyone! With the start of summer I figured it would be a good idea to share my summer essentials with all of you. Summer is one of my favorite seasons! I get to come home from college and spend time with all my friends and family, and I don’t have to worry about any schoolwork. I love to spend the summer hanging out by the pool or at the beach.
One of my first summer essentials is of course a good bathing suit. I think it’s important to not only have a good bikini, but also a good one piece. My favorite one piece right now is a Ralph Lauren from Bloomingdales. It’s such a classic navy bathing suit, but the ruffles add a twist. My favorite bikini is a classic pinstripe pattern that is an affordable option from Target. Target has so many really cute bathing suits this season; I actually bought three from there this year.
Here are some other bathing suit ideas:
The next thing on my list is a speaker. If I’m in my backyard swimming or tanning, I always want to listen to music. I use a speaker I got for my birthday from Kate Spade. Some other speakers that I know work really well are the Bose Color Sound Link and the Beats Pill.
Continuing on down the list, I have always loved to hang out in the pool on a float. Especially recently, there have been so many different types of floats. Some of you may know that last summer; many people had a swan pool float. Continuing on with this trend, there are now floats in the shape of pizza, pineapple, donut, and many more. Two companies that make pool floats in all these shapes and more are Big Mouth Inc. and Swimline, which you can buy at stores such as Target and Dick’s Sports Goods.
Another one of my summer essentials is a summer tote bag. I personally use a Longchamp Le Pilage Tote bag L ($145), in the color navy. I love it because it goes with everything, and is big enough to fit everything I need. Two other bags that I love are the Breezy Tote in the color Clear Palm Place from Lilly Pulitzer ($138) and the Striped Straw Market Tote from J.Crew ($65).
One of the last things that I always bring with me to the beach or the pool is a book. Now I don’t always necessarily read the book, but during the summer I have extra time to read a book that actually interests my and not a textbook I am going to be tested on. Right now I have two books on my list, After You by Jojo Moyes. This is the sequel to the book Me After You, which was made into a movie starring Emilia Clark and Sam Clafin. If you haven’t read the first book or seen the movie, I recommend doing both. The second book that is on my list is Ashely Grahmn’s book A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like. I had the pleasure of being able to go to her book signing and meet her, she was honestly one of the sweetest people ever. I bought the book at the signing and have been so excited to read it since!
